By now you have heard and read in the news that GMAC, J.P.Morgan Chase and Bank of America have announced that they were halting foreclosures in many states, including Florida. In addition to halting new filings, and discontinuing actions on pending foreclosures, these institutions have also imposed a halt on closing any pending REO sale.

These developments are in addition to the legal challenges facing the three largest REO law firms in the state- two of which are in our backyard.

While these are unsettling and upsetting issues for some, there is a definite silver lining to this cloud: even as REOs become scarce for the time being, and the "foreclosure" inventory is dwindling and/or static, the opportunity is here for sellers to SELL their homes.  

With the short term effect of a shortage of REOs in the marketplace-a reduction in inventory-, sellers of properties in Short Sale predicament, or regular sales have a golden opportunity to get offers on their listed properties.   It's the perfect opportunity for new sellers who have been on the fence... to SELL...
